Pink Kicks the Bucket...

You know how I feel about animals. I love them! So when PETA was talking about the extreme cruelty to the chickens at KFC, I listened. I drove thru the KFC window about once every three months and ordered mashed potatoes, biscuits and cole slaw but you know what? No more.

Singer Pink agrees and has signed on to speak out for the cause targeting Kentucky Fried Chicken in their Kick the Bucket campaign. PinksPage.com, Pink writes: "PETA is simply asking KFC to modernize its methods and stop boiling birds alive in the defeathering tank and stop pumping them so full of growth drugs that they cripple under their own weight."

And no, I don't think breast implants are tested on chickens. I know my breast implant testing commentator was going to mention that. No worries -chickens are safe from the silicone.

Katerina said...: hmmmm I hate it when anyone tries to impose on other people to change to their own "enlightened" choice of nutrition. You can't change what people eat that easily, but what you can do is push for better treatment. And no I do not believe eating meat is bad for you, but that is my opinion and I don't try to impose it on anyone. :)
On another note, what about people fot ethical treatment of silicone??? Now that is also a horrible, serious problem I would love to put an end to. I'm sick of all the overstuffed bimbos everywhere! When will women realise it is demeaning and plain ugly?? You can't beat natural, in meat or in body:) @ 4:02 AM

After all, when we say ethical treatment, I thought we meant finding ways to slaughter them with less pain and to better their living environment so it's not all industrialized and so the quality of our nutrition can be better and the animals won't be limited to a terrible existence until they die, NOT "stop eating meat". If you choose not to eat meat b/c of animal rights or really any reason (I have no problem with vegetarians), good for you - but don't go around spreading lies about it being bad for you.

Just because I listed two web sites doesn't mean they are my ONLY sources of information. I've done research on nutrition for many years, and you don't need meat to think, believe it or not.

Hemp oil and flaxseed oil are 2 really good sources of amino acids, as is a grain called quinoa. Quinoa is SO good for people, I can't believe it's not more widely known.

If people want to eat meat, more power to 'em, but they should be aware of the suffering the animals go through, and how when natural disaster strikes, farms often opt to literally TRASH the animals (after days of suffering in the elements without food & water), than to save them.

Our food industry is DISGUSTING and VILE. We stare in amazement at dog markets in Korea where dogs are forced to lie in their own filth with their front legs tied behind their backs, but think nothing of the suffering of our own food animals in this country.

Besides, research has shown the entire world would be better off economically, and environmentally, if people would stop using animals for food.

You don't have to take my word for it, though--do your own research. You won't, though. It's easier to stick your heads in the sand & try to label anyone who is trying to make a difference as either "crazy," or having no credibility. *eye roll* @ 11:50 PM
